OPTION A — Blood Card (Recommended): Hold the wing firmly, locate the brachial vein on the underside, prick with the included lancet, and press the blood card to collect 3–5 drops. Allow to air-dry 30 min. OPTION B — Feather Pull: Pull 3–5 breast feathers with intact follicles. ⚠️ Roots must be attached — bare shafts without follicles cannot be analyzed.
Blood card is the preferred method for commercial and backyard flock owners familiar with routine health checks. Both methods work for chicks of any age, including day-old chicks.
