Simple, non-invasive, and mail-in β results in 3β4 weeks
Your kit ships in 3β5 business days and includes a fin-clip collection vial, a 50 mL eDNA water sample tube, preservative solution, prepaid return envelope, and activation card.
Two collection methods included: fin clip (primary, highest accuracy) and eDNA water sample (non-contact alternative). Choose based on your fish species and comfort level.
Option A (Fin Clip): Use the sterile scissors to snip 2β3 mm from a fin tip and place in the preservative vial. Option B (eDNA): Collect 50 mL of tank water in the provided tube β no fish handling required.
Fin clip: highest DNA yield, works for all species. eDNA water sample: completely hands-off, ideal for shy/delicate fish (bettas, discus, small tetras). Do NOT change tank water for 24 hours before eDNA collection.
Seal the vial in the padded return envelope and drop in any USPS mailbox. Prepaid postage included.
Samples remain stable in preservative solution for 30+ days at room temperature.
Our ISO 17025-accredited laboratory partner uses mitochondrial DNA sequencing and microsatellite analysis to identify species, subspecies, and genetic health markers.
Analyzes: Species ID, wild-caught vs. captive-bred origin, genetic disease markers, lineage tracing.
Your digital report arrives in 3β4 weeks. Includes species confirmation, origin analysis, health marker screening, and personalized supplement protocol.
Report sections: Species & Subspecies, Origin Verification, Health Markers, Water Chemistry Recommendations, Supplement Protocol.

Identify genetic susceptibilities before symptoms appear
Affected Species: Cichlids, Goldfish, Bettas
Viral disease causing wart-like growths on fins and skin. Genetic susceptibility varies by lineage.
Affected Species: Goldfish, Bettas
Genetic predisposition in fancy goldfish breeds (Oranda, Ryukin). Affects buoyancy and quality of life.
Affected Species: Bettas, Gouramis
Parasitic infection (Oodinium). Genetic variants affect immune response and susceptibility.
Affected Species: Discus, Cichlids
Protozoal infection causing hole-in-the-head disease. Genetic immune markers predict susceptibility.
Affected Species: Livebearers, Tetras
Bacterial infection. Genetic lineage from high-density aquaculture farms shows elevated susceptibility.
Affected Species: Koi, Common Carp
Highly contagious viral disease. Some genetic lines show greater resistance. Critical for koi pond owners.
